Industry 4.0: towards competitiveness with innovation and energy efficiency

The association of new technologies of generation and energy efficciency with intelligent technologies lead to what has been called industry 4.0, an industry with new productive specializations and focused on the production of efficient products directed to a new profile of consumers, which, increasingly, require the reduction of energy costs and are more aware of the use of energy.

Industry 4.0 is in line with the EU 2020 Strategy for safe, sustainable and competitive energy approved in March 2010 and that it is committed to an energy model "which prioritizes energy saving and efficiency".

In addition, experts agree on another aspect: it is essential to generate environments, platforms and collaboration tools to promote communication, exchange of ideas and collaboration between the technological and industrial sectors. And, of course, pay special attention to academic and work training.
